India!
My time in India was spent working with kids at a non-profit organization for youth in Coimbatore, India, as well as working with non-profit organizations throughout the state of Tamil Nadu. Another study abroad program through MSU, we were able to allocate money to help raise environmental awareness through NPOs in Coimbatore, as well as provide the MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) vaccine to many children who needed it. It was fascinating to witness how NPOs operate in India, especially in relation to farmers market and direct distribution, which was another focus of our studies. In our free time, we often engaged in the culture as much as possible, such as studying the ways of Hinduism, the caste system, India's history, and society in general. We were able to visit the Golden Triangle (Jaipur-Agra-Delhi) and visit the Taj Mahal, which is truly a wonder.
