Antarctica!
Traveling to Antarctica has been a life goal of mine since I can remember (along with going to the other 6 continents). The study abroad program at MSU, being the best in the country, allowed me to do so. This experience was absolutely amazing, and cannot properly be described in words. We studied the history of Antarctica as well as zoology of the continent (whales, penguins, sea lions, birds, etc). We slept and ate on the Ocean Nova, our expedition vessel, and took zodiacs over the the actual continent 3-4 times a day. Our time was filled with animal observation, history lessons, and explorations of our own. We were able to meet with researchers at the Verdansky Base, located on Antarctica, and were able to speak with them about their research. The entire experience was the opportunity of a lifetime.
